Exode AI assistant and knowledge base in the redesigned app

NewImprovementAIMobile appMessengerCourse builderHomeworkAnalyticsHR and org structureCustomizationAPI

In the redesigned app, Exode AI is in the menu and the knowledge base is on the home page: voice questions, searchable history, files and skills. Plus chat reactions and “One by one” practice.

Exode AI assistant and knowledge base

  • The assistant in the menu. Exode AI has moved to the app menu.
  • Voice questions. You can dictate a question, and the text types itself. You can also continue text you have already typed by voice.
  • Searchable history. All past conversations are collected in the history, and you can search it.
  • Files, photos and skills. Attach a file or a photo to a question and pick a skill.
  • Drafts are kept. An unfinished question, its attachments and the chosen skill are saved, even if you close the app.
  • Knowledge base on the home page. The knowledge base has moved to the app’s home page.
  • Knowledge base spaces. A space is created with its name and access for everyone, users, departments or positions at once. A space card shows whether it is open or has restricted access.
  • Knowledge base files. A file that could not be processed can be processed again from its menu. The assistant sees a renamed file under its new name right away.
  • Exode AI for administrators. The assistant enrolls people in a course with one request — by names, emails or phone numbers — and creates missing accounts itself. It creates a department structure of any depth at once, writes a comment to a student on any submission, and checks homework in PDF together with its images.

What’s new in the app

We have rebuilt the app: it is faster and smoother, and its buttons, menus and windows now look like the apps you know on iPhone and Android.

💬 Chats

  • Long-press a message to react.
  • You can see who has read your message in a group.
  • Tap a person to open their card: from there you can message them or copy a link to their profile.
  • Attaching photos and files is easier: paste them or drag them into the chat.
  • Create a group in a couple of taps and invite members by link.
  • Instead of typing, you can dictate text.

📚 Learning

  • Practice goes one task at a time, with the timer always in view.
  • In an answer to a task you can write text or attach a photo from the camera, a file or a voice message.

✨ And more

  • A new photo viewer: swipe through all photos on the page, zoom in and rotate them.
  • Links to lessons, courses and invitations open right in the app.
  • Kazakh is now available.
  • Shake the phone to change the theme or send error details to support.

What else is new

  • Group and channel info. The member list with roles, notification settings and the “Leave chat” button. An administrator adds members and removes them from the chat, and only an administrator can bring a removed member back.
  • Invite links. People can be invited to a group or channel by a link. A link gets an expiry date and a number of joins, and it can be paused, revoked and restored.
  • Reactions, mentions and “Read by”. You can react to a message — 👍 is a double tap — and a reaction shows who added it. A member can be mentioned with @ and suggestions, and messages and notifications show their name. The author of a message in a group sees who has read it.
  • “One by one” practice. Tasks open one at a time in full screen, with numbers, “Back” and “Next” buttons, swipes and arrow keys. The curator chooses the mode, and a student can switch it on their device. When the practice time is up, the answers are frozen and “Submit practice” stays in view.
  • Late penalties in group deadlines. Points for a late submission can be reduced by a percent or by a number of points, and deadlines can be set in minutes, hours, days and weeks. If a deadline with the “Close” consequence is missed, the course can’t be completed until the curator clicks “Open access”. The penalty is shown in the results and in the curator’s chat.
  • Translations of videos, SCORM and tasks. Each course language can have its own video, its own SCORM package and its own task question. A student’s answer is checked against the question in their language.
  • Solution statistics. A task has a “How students solve it” card, and a lesson practice has a “Statistics” tab: the hardest tasks, tasks that turn out harder or easier than declared, the distribution of results and tips in plain words. The statistics are visible to those who manage the course.
  • Group in the student list. The all-students page has a “Group” column with the access period and a group filter.
  • Search engine visibility. “Privacy and registration” has a “The school is visible in search engines” switch. It is on for all schools and can be turned off.
  • “System” theme. Besides “Light” and “Dark”, you can choose the “System” theme, which follows the device setting.
  • User card. Tapping a user opens their card instead of the profile page.
  • Choosing what to import from Verifix. A school chooses what to import from Verifix: departments, positions or employees. Records that are not imported can be maintained by hand.
  • Review moderation. A course review can get a status and a note. This is available with the “Course comment management” permission.

What’s better

  • “Active practice” on the home page also shows a retake that has been started but not yet submitted.
  • Deadlines update right away when the course structure or the study mode changes, when a student’s progress is deleted or when they enroll again.
  • Changes to the school’s subscription, pages and menu show up right away, including after payment.
  • The browser’s password manager suggests and saves the new password when you change or recover it.

For integrators (API)

  • PUT saas/v2/staff/employment/:employmentId/update and PUT saas/v2/staff/employment/ext/:extId/update change employment terms without a transfer: the start date, rate, employment type and kind. A new start date moves the end of the previous record.
  • Positions in saas/v2/staff return departmentIds — the departments the position is linked to.
  • The mini app SDK @exode-team/sdk: a header with buttons and a “…” menu, a main button, an input field, popups, haptics, full screen mode and its own “Back” button.
